Robert Eide
Chief Executive Officer
Robert Eide is the CEO and President of Aegis Capital Corp. He founded Aegis in 1984 and his vision has helped guide the firm for over 25 years. Mr. Eide’s attributes and skills include financial literacy, managerial aptitude, and the knowledge and experience attained through his service as a director of multiple public and private corporations. Mr. Eide currently serves as a Director of Nathan’s Famous, Inc. (NATH) and he has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1979.
Kevin McKenna
Chief Compliance Officer
Kevin McKenna, Chief Compliance Officer, has approximately 30 years of experience in the securities industry. Prior to joining Aegis, Mr. McKenna was a First Vice President/Senior Complex Administrative Manager at Morgan Stanley NY offices. Mr. McKenna was responsible for all of the compliance and risk functionality for his designated area as well as training employees on the company’s policies and procedures and developing training programs for new managers. Mr. McKenna spent 23 years of his career with Merrill Lynch, where he held a number of supervisory and management positions. Mr. McKenna maintains the following licenses: Series 7, 8, 23, and 63. Kevin received his BA in social sciences from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.
George Kott
Chief Operating Officer
George Kott, Chief Operating Officer, has over 15 years of industry-related experience with an extensive background in Trading and Operations. He joined Aegis Capital Corp. in 1999 and served as the Manager of the Operations and Trading Departments until 2007. From 2007 through 2009, he garnered extensive experience in Branch Management, Compliance & AML. He returned to Aegis Capital during 2009 to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer. George brings a strong operational background coupled with a deep knowledge of technology. He has assisted Aegis Capital in managing its dual clearing relationship with Penson and RBC. Mr. Kott received his degree from Hofstra University and currently maintains Series 7, 63, 24, 55, and 79 licenses.
Ramnarain "Joe" Jaigobind
Head of Global Equity Capital Markets
Mr. Jaigobind is the head of Aegis Capital’s Global Equity Capital Markets. Joe has raised in excess of $55 billion in capital markets through Leading, Co-Lead Manager or as a Syndicate Member. Mr. Jaigobind started his career at Shearson Lehman Brothers in the Private Client Group and was most recently with Rodman & Renshaw, where he held the position of Head of Global Equity Capital Markets. Joe has also acted as Senior Vice President with Investec Ernst and was an Executive Managing Director at Maxim Group. He's been a Chairman’s Circle Member of the US-India Business Council and served as a Director of the Board of the US-Pakistan Business Council. Mr. Jaigobind is currently a member of the Susquehanna Investment Network based in Lewisburg and has previously served on the board of directors of Care Management International. Mr. Jaigobind is also a Trustee of the West Street Charitable Foundation.
Phillip Michals
Head of Business Development
Phil Michals has worked on the business development side of the brokerage business since 1994. Phil has specialized in recruiting and retention and has assisted in growing some of the largest independent branches in the country. Phil has been a partner in two previous HR consulting companies, MSCI and Uptick Trading; both companies consulted with NYSE and FINRA broker dealers. Since 1999, Phil has also been on the board of directors of Manhattan Bridge Capital, a public company that trades on the NASDAQ (LOAN), where he serves on the audit, compensation, and nominee committees. Furthermore, since November 2000, he has also been a Principal of RG Michals and PPG Trading. A Founder and Principal of the financial advisory company Quadstar Capital Advisors, Mr. Michals received a BS degree in HRIM from the University of Delaware. Mr. Michals is currently registered as an Investment Advisor.
Alex Yelensky
Managing Director of Institutional Equities
Alex Yelensky has been in the financial industry since 1992. After his quick ascent thru the ranks of Grunthal, Alex joined Josephthal in 1995 as a VP of Investments. While employed by Josephthal he received numerous awards, including top producer, and he was also elected a member of the Chairman’s Council. Mr. Yelensky left Josephthal as a Managing Director.
In 2001, Mr. Yelensky founded an OSJ focusing on developing institutional clientele, which evolved into a business with a run-rate in the mid-seven figures. His production ranked him as the number-one producer five out of six years amongst a thousand brokers. Over the course of his career, Mr. Yelensky has established relationships with the largest hedge funds and mutual funds in North America, along with large institutional investors in the UK. Mr. Yelensky received a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts in 1992 and currently maintains the Series 7, 63, 24, and 4 licenses.
Raffaele Gambardella
Chief Administrative Officer
Raffaele Gambardella has been in the financial industry since 1995. Mr. Gambardella has been a partner of an independent OSJ, which grew from two to over one hundred advisors within multiple locations for the past 10 years. During his time at Aegis, Mr. Gambardella has held positions of Branch Manager, Vice President, and Sales Manager. Most recently, Ralph held the position of Regional Officer Manager, where he was responsible for the administration of multiple branch offices. Mr. Gambardella was educated at the University of Economics and Commerce Naples, Italy, prior to attending City University of New York-Baruch College, where he received a BA in International Marketing. Since November 2000, he has also been a principal of management consulting companies, RG Michals Holdings and PPG Trading. Ralph is also a Partner of Quadstar Capital Advisors, a financial advisory company. Mr. Gambardella holds the Series 7, 63, 24, 4, and Variable Life Insurance licenses.
Michael Pata
Senior Executive Director
Michael began his career in the financial services industry in 1995. After hard work and countless hours of dedication to his clients he rose to join the leadership ranks. While Michael still enjoys helping his clients reach their financial objectives, he has had great pride and success in growing firms by hiring quality registered representatives over the years from wirehouse firms to boutique investment firms. Michael sets himself apart because he understands the wants and needs of a registered representative because he is an active representative. In addition to servicing his clients’ needs, Michael works closely with the overall structure of Aegis Capital including management and recruiting. Michael is currently Senior Executive Director at Aegis Capital Corp. and an Executive of Aegis General Insurance Agency. Michael was educated at Hofstra University where he majored in Finance and he currently holds a General Securities Representative License (Series 7), Uniform Securities Agent State Law License (Series 63), Registered Options Principal License (Series 4), General Securities Principal License (Series 24) and a Life & Health Insurance License.
Thomas M. Dowling
Managing Director of Wealth Management
Thomas Dowling has spent his entire career in wealth management. His areas of expertise include complex asset accumulation, protection, and distribution strategies for individuals, families and businesses. Prior to Aegis Capital, Thomas directed the east coast expansion of a publicly-traded investment banking firm and was Vice President and Senior Advisor of a regional investment advisory organization. He was a recognized leader and a member of each firm's Chairman's Council and President's Circle. Thomas is also a founder and principal of Quadstar Capital Advisors, which provides advisory services to high net worth clients.
Mr. Dowling received his undergraduate degree in business administration with a minor in finance from the State University of New York. He completed the graduate-level Certified Investment Management Analyst program held in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In addition to being a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist, he recently passed Level 2 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Exam. He has also obtained his General Securities license, General Securities Principal license, and Uniform Investment Advisor license, as well as his Life and Health Insurance license, and he is a Variable Annuities Agent.
Civically, he volunteers for Dale Carnegie Training, which is an organization devoted to helping people develop strong leadership, communication, and public speaking skills. He is a founder of The Resource Group and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association.
Stanley JG Crouch
Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Stanley JG Crouch has been in the Investment business since 1983. He began his career at Herbert J Sims & Co, Inc, where he became Managing Director. Throughout his career, as an investor, Registered Representative and Registered Investment Advisor, he has focused on income-producing securities including bonds, income producing equities, and high income specialized financings. He has had roles in issues totaling over $5 billion, financing hundreds of projects throughout the United States.
Mr. Crouch joined Aegis Capital Corp. as Chief Investment Officer and Senior Managing Director to establish an income-centric investment focus and platform at the firm, as a valid alternative strategy to conventional asset allocation models prevalent in the industry today. Mr. Crouch is a widely recognized speaker on topics concerning the economy, markets, investment strategies, and topics relating to the Financial Services Industry.
Mr. Crouch attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy and is a graduate of Wagner College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He resides in Westport, CT, with his wife and four children. He is active in numerous civic and charitable activities, most notably the Smile Train and the Salvation Army’s ARC program.

Adam K. Stern: Head of Private Equity Banking at Aegis Capital and CEO of SternAegis Ventures.
Formerly the Senior Managing Director of Spencer Trask Ventures. Mr. Stern has over 25 years of venture capital and investment banking experience focusing primarily on the life science and technology sectors of the capital markets. Mr. Stern has completed over 100 transactions throughout his career, including private placements, public offerings and mergers and acquisitions, valued in excess of several billion dollars.
Mr. Stern currently is a Director at Prolor Biotech (NYSE:PBTH), InVivo Therapeutics (OTC:NVIV) Organovo Holdings (OTC:ONVO) and LabStyle Innovations.
Mr. Stern has been a keynote speaker and conference panelist nationally on topics ranging from Venture Capital to Alternative Public Offerings.
Prior to being Head of Private Equity Banking at Aegis Capital and CEO of SternAegis Ventures, Mr. Stern was the Senior Managing Director at Spencer Trask Ventures from 1997 to 2012 and was at Josephthal & Co., from 1989 to 1997 as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Private Equity Marketing. Mr. Stern has been a FINRA licensed securities broker since 1987 and a General Securities Principal since 1991.
